Our Shine adjudication panel is made up of three adjudicators with complementary areas of expertise. Each adjudicator must be articulate in a wide range of dance genres including ballet, tap, acro, and street styles, and have experience teaching children of different ages and abilities. We carefully select trained and qualified adjudicators with diverse backgrounds and extensive experiential knowledge in dance who are committed to the healthy development of young performers. We build our panels based on merit ensuring each panelist has a different area of expertise so that every routine, in every discipline receives valuable feedback at Shine. We welcome applicants of all identities.

Shine Dance Festival was the first event to bring VIDEO ADJUDICATION to BC and has been using it since 2007!

Yes! Each member of our panel of adjudicators must have the knowledge and background to offer an insightful and valuable verbal critique in ALL styles of dance.

YES! Our adjudicators take turns presenting awards and providing valuable interactive feedback at Shine.

Our events typically run from 9:15 AM - 9:15 PM each day. You can expect 45 minute Lunch and Dinner breaks each day as well as short intervals between sessions.

You bet! We provide private hotel accommodations, meals, flights, and ground transportation in the event city as well as a travel stipend to cover additional expenses on travel days (like airport parking, meals in transit, etc…).

Absolutely! As an industry professional you are a role model and are expected to dress as a leader in your field. Not red carpet, not office wear, and not studio garb. More like an interview dinner for a dream job in the entertainment business at an upscale restaurant.
