Reserve spaces NOW without a deposit. Just let us know how many dancers you intend to bring (min and max). We will give you first priority to claim those spaces by completing payment and registration 4 weeks before the event. After the 4 week mark, those spaces will be released for others to register.

To make your reservation, please email [email protected] with the convention you plan on attending (Kelowna or Nanaimo) and the number of dancers in each level (junior, intermediate, advanced, teacher) you intend to bring.  We will then stay in touch by email to keep you up-to-date about registration and payment deadlines.

Class sizes will be limited to 150 dancers in intermediate and advanced, and 80 juniors.

Shine Dance Convention welcomes independent dancers .

Registered directors and teachers will receive a Teacher wristband giving them access to observe, take notes and participate in any junior, intermediate or advanced dance classes during the convention.  You will also have exclusive access to our sessions designed especially for teachers.  Our teacher sessions will focus on both the art of teaching as well as addressing issues faced by dance educators today.  Teachers are also welcome to attend our parent sessions and we have a special  Teacher Appreciation Wine & Cheese with our faculty on Saturday night at 9 PM to encourage community building and connection.

A FREE Parent Pass will be given for each room booked at the host hotel. Additional Parent Passes will be $25/ each and are good for all parent event events over the course of the weekend.

* The Audition Experience and Coaching Sessions are closed to parents & teachers.

Parent Sessions included with your PARENT PASS:

The Dance Family with Lauren Ritchie
You may or may not be a “dance mom” but your child is in dance and you want to support, nurture and advocate for your dancer so they can be at their best. Lauren will discuss how we can use mental skills and mindful conversations to support our dancer’s before and after class, convention, and competitions. In this open forum, we will also create the space for questions and answers.

Ask An Adjudicator with Jay T Schramek
A good judge is not impartial, but is instead prejudiced for good.” This workshop is an open forum discussion about the aesthetics being sought by adjudicators. Information includes; how they determine a winning routine, and the best practices engaged by popular judges.

Beyond Dancing with Tamara Thompson Levi
A Q & A session with Shine Founder and Director about a holistic approach to dance life.  How can dance contribute to the overall health and development of young people. What are the long term opportunities, concerns and considerations for dancers? What is the role of the parent and the studio in raising healthy and well rounded dancers.  As a parent, dance educator, and former competitive and professional dancer Tamara will address your questions in an open and honest discussion.

Parent Passes will be available for purchase on site. $25 includes all sessions.
