Each year we listen to YOUR feedback and make the changes that allow us to fulfill our vision to UNITE and EMPOWER youth while meeting the evolving needs of dancers, families and studios.

We don’t know what 2021 competition season will look like just yet, but we will be here to provide dancers with opportunities for development and performance.  We are committed to the health and safety of our community and may make modifications to our events as a result. We promise to stay true to our core values without compromising the quality you have come to expect from Shine events.

Please review our competition guidelines thoroughly as we are continually updating details and policies to improve the quality of our events year after year.

COVID-19 UPDATES

See our 2021 Plans (Yes, we have plans for a wide range of scenarios! Plan A, B, C, and D).  Our first priority is to hold a live event if possible, a virtual event will be the last resort.  We are exploring alternate venues and scheduling methods to provide the live experience where dancers to thrive.

Policy Update- November 26, 2020

  • Our Wellness 1st Policy means routines withdrawn due to injury or illness (including COVID-19 related circumstances) are eligible for studio credit when accompanied by a doctor’s note.
  • If a live event cannot proceed we will run a hybrid or virtual event instead.  Studios may choose to participate, or, opt-out and retain credits for 2022. Live events are our 1st priority and a virtual event will only be held as a last resort.
  • In the event of a cancelation or inability to participate due to a government order within 8 weeks of an event, we will offer a full refund of fees paid for 2021 and carry 2020 credits forward to 2022.
  • HEALTH AND SAFETY
We are working with each venue and ActSafe to ensure health and safety plans for each event that meet, or exceed, government and health authority standards. Our Wellness 1st Event in July 2020 featured live-streamed performances, scheduling in studio groups, under 50 people in the venue, social distancing, and increased sanitation.  New measures including masks will likely be implemented in 2021.
